School Supply Drive for A Gift For Teaching

A bulletin board containing suggested donations is in the Narthex. A Gift for Teaching is an organization whose mission is to improve public education by providing resources and surplus materials free to teachers for their students in need. Needed supplies include:

  • 2 pack - #2 pencils
  • 12 pack - color pencils
  • 24 pack - crayons
  • Student scissors
  • Pink erasers
  • Glue sticks
  • 8/10 pack - color markers
  • Pocket folders
  • Wide ruled notebook paper
  • Wide ruled spiral notebooks

Please bring donations to the Narthex. We will be collecting supplies until August 6th.

New Class Starting September 13th

Join Pastor Kate, Carol and Bob Ousnamer as we explore worship planning in the 21st century. Our texts will include hymnals, Book of Worship, websites, the arts, and other surprises. Come join us in an interactive adventure in Worship. Begins Wednesday September 13th at 6:30 p.m. in Room 16/18. Sign up at church or contact the Church Office.

Office Volunteers Needed

TUMC is looking for volunteers Mondays, Tuesday mornings, Wednesday mornings, and Thursdays. Office volunteers help answer the phone, check the mail, greet visitors as they come, and help Pastor Sarah and staff. Please contact the Church Office if interested in helping out in the office.

TUMC Handbell Choir

The TUMC Handbell choir is to begin late August or early September. If you have played handbells previously or you just want to learn, this is the time to join us. If you can count to four, clap your hands or tap your foot, we can teach you how to play bells. Our goal is to play for Christmas! Come join the fun! An organizational meeting will be held as soon as we secure eight ringers. Contact Ty Riddle if you are interested or have any questions.

Chancel Choir Hiatus July 3rd – August 16th

Our Chancel Choir will take a much-needed hiatus this summer from July 3rd through August 16th. Soloists will provide leadership for our worship services. Please take a moment to express your appreciation to our choir who have faithfully served.

Youth Stock now Available

Gravity Youth are selling stock for their mission trip this summer to Dalton, GA. Shares are $10 each and there will be a stockholder dinner August 13th so the youth can share their mission trip experience. For more information, please contact Jacob.

Seeking Servants for TUMC's Congregational Care Team

Willa Kids and Gravity Youth Volunteers Needed

Willa Kids and Gravity Youth are looking for volunteers to help with Willa Kids and Youth Bible Study on Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. If you are interested, please see Samantha or Jacob.

Seeking Friends in Faith for Willa Kids, Gravity Youth, and TUMC Young Adults

Pastor Sarah is seeking Friends in Faith pen pals for each of our children, youth, and young adults to exchange letters, share encouragement, and nurture friendships across generations. Please indicate your interest on the Attendance Pad or connect with Pastor Sarah.

The TUMC Library is Available to Use

The TUMC library is available to use in Room 12 during office hours. You can search materials by looking up the category, book title, or author’s name. Please contact Samantha Aupperlee if you have any questions or if you need to access the library after office hours.

Bethel Yoga Classes

Pastor Sarah continues her free all-levels yoga classes meeting Sundays 3:00 – 4:15 p.m. and Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Please bring a yoga mat, towel, notebook, pen, and water bottle to class.
