felt God’s presence leading him during his academic endeavors and he is forever
grateful to the excellent teaching, pastoral mentoring and theological
scholarship of Daniel Sain, Albert Shuler, Mark Wethington, Stanley Hauerwas,
Geoffrey Wainwright, James Jennings, and the late Fredrick Herzog.”
Reverend Craig is an ordained elder and he serves on the Conference Board of
Ordained Ministry. He has served on various district boards of the Florida
Annual Conference, was a delegate to the 18th World Methodist
Conference in Brighton, England (2001) and was a delegate to the World Methodist
Evangelism Young Leaders Conference at St. Simons Island, Georgia (2004).
Dwayne is passionate about the mission of the Church - making disciples, and he is
excited about serving among the people of God at Tuskawilla UMC. He comes to us
with much enthusiasm for ministry and mission and he rejoices, as he says,
“in the opportunity to be among a people who truly desire to be a witnessing and
polychromatic community of faith grounded in the Deep Tomorrow (God), following
the Normative Gaze (Jesus Christ), and empowered by the Loving Presence
(Holy Spirit).” His motto is “credo ut intelligam” (Lat., I believe
that I may understand).

I
am a product of God’s eternal grace and love. Originally from
Trinidad & Tobago in the West Indies, church was as big a part of my life
growing up and continues to be an important part of my daily life. Being
part of a church “family” is essential to me.
I bring to TUMC a work history that
includes Montessori teaching methods, business office management, and cancer
research experience in the healthcare field. All these jobs involved working
with God’s children. What a delight it is now to be in Ministry here. My service
to God is further extended in my roles as Director of Lay Speaking Ministry for
the East Central District, Treasurer for the Board of Lay Ministry and, Chair of
the Commission on the Status and Role of Women for the Florida Conference.
I have experienced God’s grace in my
life as I am constantly aware of how God has been there for me in all my extreme
happiness and, when the “dark” days come, which they do. I am “Mom” to my two
“sons”, Cedric my husband of
twenty–four years and Sampson, our 10yr old Siamese.
I celebrate daily the opportunity to be
in Ministry here at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church as Assistant to Rev.
Craig, our wonderful staff and you, the people of God. I hope that you will feel
free to contact the church office with any questions you may have. Please know
that I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about God’s love and my
own faith journey.
Kathy Rexroad,
Director of Youth Ministries

Office: 407-699-8155, ext: 22
Kathy has lived in
Florida since 1979. While serving as volunteer nursery coordinator at
Tuskawilla in 1986, Kathy felt God’s call into a life of ministry – first in
the area of Christian Education. After serving for 8 years, she “grew up”
with the children she served and became their youth pastor, and she has been
serving in youth ministry for the past 14 years. As
Tuskawilla’s longest-tenured staff member of twenty-one years, she
has received the unique blessing of watching her former youth alumnae return
to their church home as godly co-workers, spouses and parents.
Kathy obtained a BS degree in nursing in 1975. She recognizes that the Lord
uses her life’s experiences and training to nurse the spirits of her youth
and their families.
Kathy has developed a ministry that enriches the lives of teenagers and
parents through Biblically-based education and opportunities of service.

musicians at Thomas County Central High School. Shortly thereafter, he was Drum
Major during his Junior and Senior years; simultaneously serving as Music
Director of Pavo United Methodist Church.
