Dwayne Craig,
Senior Pastor
Email: pastor@tumcfl.org   Office: 407-699-8155, ext: 12

Dwayne J. Craig is a native Floridian; he grew up in a small, secluded community nestled in the NE corner of Jacksonville. He is married to the wonderful Kimberly L. Craig and the proud father of Naomi Taylor Craig and Aaliyah Madison Craig.  Dwayne enjoys reading and going to Borders Bookstores.  His favorite authors are St. Augustine, James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Richard Wright, Howard Thurman, Cornel West, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Soren Kierkegaard, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Karl Barth.  He also enjoys basketball, putt putt golf, ping pong, chess and listening to the music of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, Sting, Tim McGraw and the excellent music of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven.  His favorite movies are CastAway, The Matrix, Shawshank Redemption and Mo’ Better Blues.

He graduated from Bethune-Cookman College of Daytona Beach, Florida and graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy. His graduate studies were at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where he received a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Theology degree from Duke University Divinity School. Pastor Craig shares “that he felt God’s presence leading him during his academic endeavors and he is forever grateful to the excellent teaching, pastoral mentoring and theological scholarship of Daniel Sain, Albert Shuler, Mark Wethington, Stanley Hauerwas, Geoffrey Wainwright, James Jennings, and the late Fredrick Herzog.”

Reverend Craig is an ordained elder and he serves on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. He has served on various district boards of the Florida Annual Conference, was a delegate to the 18th World Methodist Conference in Brighton, England (2001) and was a delegate to the World Methodist Evangelism Young Leaders Conference at St. Simons Island, Georgia (2004).

Dwayne is passionate about the mission of the Church - making disciples, and he is excited about serving among the people of God at Tuskawilla UMC. He comes to us with much enthusiasm for ministry and mission and he rejoices, as he says, “in the opportunity to be among a people who truly desire to be a witnessing and polychromatic community of faith grounded in the Deep Tomorrow (God), following the Normative Gaze (Jesus Christ), and empowered by the Loving Presence (Holy Spirit).” His motto is “credo ut intelligam” (Lat., I believe that I may understand).

Lynn Campbell,
Assistant to Pastor and Office Administrator
Email: office@tumcfl.org  Office: 407-699-8155

I am a product of God’s eternal grace and love. Originally from Trinidad & Tobago in the West Indies, church was as big a part of my life growing up and continues to be an important part of my daily life. Being part of a church “family” is essential to me.

I bring to TUMC a work history that includes Montessori teaching methods, business office management, and cancer research experience in the healthcare field. All these jobs involved working with God’s children. What a delight it is now to be in Ministry here. My service to God is further extended in my roles as Director of Lay Speaking Ministry for the East Central District, Treasurer for the Board of Lay Ministry and, Chair of the Commission on the Status and Role of Women for the Florida Conference.

I have experienced God’s grace in my life as I am constantly aware of how God has been there for me in all my extreme happiness and, when the “dark” days come, which they do. I am “Mom” to my two “sons”, Cedric my husband of twenty–four years and Sampson, our 10yr old Siamese.

I celebrate daily the opportunity to be in Ministry here at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church as Assistant to Rev. Craig, our wonderful staff and you, the people of God. I hope that you will feel free to contact the church office with any questions you may have. Please know that I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about God’s love and my own faith journey.

Kathy Rexroad,
Director of Youth Ministries
Email: youth@tumcfl.org   Office: 407-699-8155, ext: 22

Kathy has lived in Florida since 1979.  While serving as volunteer nursery coordinator at Tuskawilla in 1986, Kathy felt God’s call into a life of ministry – first in the area of Christian Education. After serving for 8 years, she “grew up” with the children she served and became their youth pastor, and she has been serving in youth ministry for the past 14 years.  As Tuskawilla’s longest-tenured staff member of twenty-one years, she has received the unique blessing of watching her former youth alumnae return to their church home as godly co-workers, spouses and parents.

Kathy obtained a BS degree in nursing in 1975.  She recognizes that the Lord uses her life’s experiences and training to nurse the spirits of her youth and their families.

Kathy has developed a ministry that enriches the lives of teenagers and parents through Biblically-based education and opportunities of service.

Joseph V. Shelley,
Director of Music Ministries
Email: music@tumcfl.org  Office: 407-699-8155, ext: 21

Joseph V. Shelley is originally from the small town in Southwest Georgia named Pavo; near Thomasville, Georgia. At the age of six, Joseph began playing the piano, by ear. Formally studying piano for about one year as a preadolescent, he soon discovered God’s gift of music in many forms: Classical Organ, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone/Euphonium and music leadership. While learning to conduct at the age of thirteen, Joseph went on to be the youngest student conductor for his high school’s Symphonic band which boasted approximately 120 musicians at Thomas County Central High School. Shortly thereafter, he was Drum Major during his Junior and Senior years; simultaneously serving as Music Director of Pavo United Methodist Church.

After moving to Sanford in 1999, Joseph served for almost three years as Church Organist, Praise Band Leader, Children’s Accompanist & teacher for Central Baptist Church. Next, Joseph served as Director of Orchestra and Music Associate for the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater in Longwood, Florida.

Finally, after serving as Church Organist for exactly one year at Tuskawilla, Joseph was hired as Full Time Director of Music Ministries.

Larry Hale,
Director of Maintenance Ministries
Email: shine@tumcfl.org  Office: 407-699-8155, ext: 16

Larry has been a Florida resident since 1955. He first came to TUMC in August 1999 as a part- time custodian after spending twenty – five years with the Orange County School system in the same capacity.

In January 2003, he became full time and says he is delighted to be working with the TUMC staff and its congregation.

Larry shares that he has a bond with the pre-school and puts a lot of emphasis on his work with the teachers to give the teachers and parents a positive experience at TUMC.
